Measuring Guide

Blinds & Curtains: get it right the first time

Golden rule: we work in 5mm increments. 1000mm · 1255mm · 1485mm · 1600mm · 1845mm · 2235mm

Inside Reveal

Fits inside the window recess. Measured tighter, with small deductions so the blind doesn't touch the frame.

Outside Reveal

Mounted on the wall, overlapping the window for full coverage and better light-blocking.

Curtains & Allusion: A Note on Overlap For Curtains and Allusion blinds, we don't recommend a fixed overlap: it's entirely down to your own taste. That said, nothing looks better than wall-to-wall curtaining for a fuller, more finished look.

25mm / 35mm / 50mm Venetian Blinds

Aluminium & Wooden / Plastic Wood

We recommend adding 200mm extra on your inside reveal: this means your blind will overlap 100mm on each side, width and height.

Inside Reveal

  1. Measure the width first, in millimetres.
  2. Measure the top, middle and bottom section (see diagram).
  3. Write down the smallest measurement and deduct 10mm, so the blind has spacing on the sides and doesn't touch the walls.
  4. Measure the height at the middle of the window. No need to deduct anything.
  5. Submit the sizes on the Order Page.

Outside Reveal

  1. Measure your window directly and add 200mm to both width and height. The inside-reveal deduction doesn't apply here.

Vision Blinds

We recommend adding 200mm extra on your inside reveal: this means your blind will overlap 100mm on each side, width and height.

Inside Reveal

  1. Measure the width first, in millimetres.
  2. Measure the top section (see diagram).
  3. Deduct 10mm off the width, so the Vision Blind cassette fits perfectly without touching the side walls.
  4. Measure the height at the middle of the window.
  5. Deduct 10mm off the height, so the material doesn't touch the window sill.
  6. Submit the sizes on the Order Page.

Outside Reveal

  1. Measure your window directly and add 200mm to both width and height. The inside-reveal deduction doesn't apply here.

Outdoor Roller Sheerweave

We recommend adding 300mm extra on your inside reveal: 150mm overlap on each side of the width, and the height split 200mm at the top and 100mm at the bottom.

Allusion Blinds

There are two ways to install and measure Allusion Blinds: Top Fix (fitted from the ceiling) or Outside reveal (on the wall, overlapping the window). It's always best to measure 500mm past your window or door, so you have stacking space and a clear view of your outside area.

Overlapping Door Only

  1. Measure the width of the door first, in millimetres.
  2. Measure the top section (see diagram).
  3. Add anything from 300mm to 600mm to your width size (your choice).
  4. Measure the height at the middle of the window.
  5. Deduct 10mm off the height, so the fabric doesn't touch the floor.
  6. Submit the sizes on the Order Page.

Ceiling Top Fix Fitting

  1. Measure the width, then the height.
  2. Deduct 10mm from both width and height, to allow fitting space.
